Meeting of member organisations of the future European Industrial Workers’ Federation (EIWF) In Central Eastern Europe; 2-3 April 2012 in Prague
For last two days in Prague (2-3 April 2012) representatives of Polish trade unions have taken part in the meeting of the member organizations of the future European Industry Workers` Federation - EIWF from Central and Eastern Europe. The aim is to get inform directly about the new structure of the EIWF, discuss together who could be the candidate for the Steering Committee, and last but not least – what could be the benefit, structure and target of a regional network in the region. EIWF is being formed by the merger of three European trade union federations: EMF - European Metalworkers' Federation, EMCEF - European Mine, Chemical and Energy Federation and ETUF: TCL European Trade Union Federation: Textile, Clothing and Leather.

Indonesia Mine Union Wins Strike, Reinstatement of Sacked Union Leaders.
We are so contented that effort of our Indonesian brothers from FSP-KEP (SPSI) the Trade Union of Chemical, Energy and Mine Workers let them win the strike and obtained the reinstatement of Sacked Union Leadres. After eight days of strike they negotiated to reinstate the six with backpay for duration of the strike and to also pay the 10 000 strikers their wages over the eight days.
